Sniff, sniff

Junior's 1 year old pictures...he's getting so big!

P.S. Happy Birthday Nana!!!

Junior's First Ranger's Game

It was a little hot at the game but we sure did have a wonderful time! Junior enjoyed all the excitement aside from the extremely loud fireworks that went off when Kinsler hit a home run!!! Junior and Daddy almost missed that one and only home run when they were changing a "thought to be" dirty diaper. Thanks to the Ranger's for winning Junior's first game!

After almost passing out...

Mommy was finally able to blow up Junior's pool he received from Aunt K for his 1st birthday. Below are a couple pictures showing how much he enjoyed his new outdoor toy!!!

It was so hot outside...Junior got thirsty...

And then he watered the grass

What a weekend!!!

This past weekend Daddy, Junior and I traveled to Lubbock, TX. (No, we weren't enrolling Junior in courses at Tech, even though it would be nice to lock in today's tuition rates for him.) We were attending and participating in a wedding of a sweet couple we met at the church we attended while going to school there. We were honored to bring up the gifts for the Eucharist and also to hand out the Body and Blood. We have many friends that we met over the years while we were there that we are blessed to still have in our lives. This should be the last wedding of them all. The past couple of years have been wedding central around here, not to mention now becoming baby central!

Now to address the title of my post..."what a weekend!!!" We sure thought it would go a little smoother than it did. Junior did not enjoy his 6 hour car ride there on Friday afternoon nor did he enjoy Daddy and I keeping him up until 11pm that night without a good afternoon nap. So coming into Saturday Junior was already tired to say the least and instead of his normal 3 hour nap he opted to wake up at half that time. Now it was time for the wedding and Junior lasted about two minutes before he needed to be escorted by Daddy to the back of the church where he stayed for the remainder of the wedding and mass. Finally, on to the reception with a grumpy baby. Here are the only pictures we were able to get of our wonderful family. Junior was not happy!

He did however, finally pass out on a dear friend of mine from Kindergarten while Daddy and I were trying to squeeze in a dance.

That nap only lasted about 45 minutes and then we had one unhappy baby again. When we finally sent off the bride and groom with sparklers it was time for us to head back to the hotel. Once we were there it was pure chaos! I forgot to mention that we were not the only ones in our hotel room that night. We were sharing it that night with a couple from church in Lubbock and their little one. Both little guys were NOT happy with us when we returned. We thought they would enjoy taking a bath together since they both loved their baths. I'm sure it would have turned out just fine if they were in better moods. Daddy gave Junior an express bath and then it was little G's turn for his. All the while both boys are screaming at the top of their lungs totally fed up with us. I scrambled to get Junior's diaper and pajamas on as he crawled to a pillow on the bed to lay his tired head on. Within seconds he was asleep even though his little buddy was still in the bathtub wailing away!

The next day was much better! The ride home was still a little rough, but how can you explain to an 11 month old that he has to sit in his car seat for 6 hours. It was understandable that he was a little perturbed with us that weekend!

Here are a few pictures of Junior and little G perusing the diaper bag for goodies! Junior enjoyed taking things out and handing them to his friend to examine. They sure were cute together!

First of many...

Junior's Aunt K was in town with the rest of the crew this past weekend and since she will not be able to make it back up to his 1st birthday party :( she gave Junior his present early. Aunt K will be in Peru hiking up to see Machu Picchu. Pray for her safe trip there and back.

Reading his card and learning that his present was from Aunt K...

Ripping it open...

So excited!!! His first pool...

Thank you Aunt K!!!

Family Get Together

This past weekend marked the beginning of many busy weekends to follow. We spent the whole weekend visiting with my aunts, uncles, cousins, immediate family and grandparents. I am very indecisive and this past weekend showed me which side of the family I got that from. All weekend we were changing plans left and right but we did manage to get a lot done. We played games, went rock climbing, played in the Texas heat, went swimming a couple of times and had a sleep over with my cousins. Daddy was able to sneak in a round of golf with my uncle. Junior had a blast (well, we all did) especially getting to take a bath with his new buddy (my youngest cousin). He did surprisingly well with so many people and so much action. Below are a few pictures of Junior and Daddy riding a bike and swinging on Nana and Great One's swing.

Pool FUN!!!

Daddy was out of town this weekend so Junior and I took a trip to Nana and Great One's house. We stayed there a few days playing and visiting. The best day was visiting Junior's Great-grandparents' pool. He loves going off the side of the pool and going under water. He also had a blast...

blowing bubbles...

kicking on the kickboard...

showing he could do it all by himself...

and making funny faces!

Mommy sure was glad he had such a great time swimming! :)

P.S. Hope you had a Happy Birthday Great One!!!

Birthday Party

Junior's friend had his first birthday party and it was also Junior's first birthday party to attend. Here is little J with his first birthday cake. Yum!
Of course Junior had to try out his friend's presents. It sure helped me decide what he would like for his birthday in a month. They sure don't make those red wagons like they used to. This one had two seats with belts, adult cup holders, a canopy shade and a fanny-pack cooler. What ever happened to the plain red metal ones?

Let me in!

"This is so unfair!" Daddy was finally able to get the gate up and left a disappointed Junior at the bottom of the stairs. Junior will still make attempts to get up the stairs as he shakes and pulls on the gate praying for it to open.
