State Fair and Houston Weekend

Daddy took the day off work on Friday and we made a long, fun-filled weekend out of it! Starting first at the State Fair. We all get a corny dog, funnel cake and one ride for each kid. We always enjoy the bird show, "working on the farm", and seeing the farm animals. Then we headed out that afternoon to Houston to visit Aunt K!

6 Months Old

6 Month Old stats:
27.5 inches tall
16 lbs. 13 oz.

Half a year has gone so quickly but yet it feels like Smiley has been with us for so much longer! He is such a joy to be around and I am able to take the time to enjoy him. I think I am much more relaxed this time around which helps! He still loves his activity center as seen below and is sitting up all on his own. The biggest milestone recently has been his ability to get anywhere around the room he wants to now! He is not on his hands and knees but he army crawls (pulling with his arms and pushing with his legs). This position would most likely be his favorite now. He loves his new freedom, I on the other hand can not get much done with him next to me without him getting into it all. :/ He has taken to imitating Gaga lately. She will shriek and Smiley will follow with a high pitched shriek of his own. It's so cute to hear all his noises! He has also started to babble and talk to us so I'm sure mama will follow shortly!

Pictured here sitting with support

We also tried food for the first time and it did not go over well at all. He whole body acutally shivered in disgust each time the food entered his mouth. NOTHING stayed in so with advice from our pedi we will try again in a couple weeks. Here are a few pics of his first try at it.

A Busy Day

Junior has been doing great on his T-ball team again this year. Daddy is helping coach again and loving the chance to be with Junior for the games and practices. Junior's friend is on the team along with the friend's dad as the head coach. I would say 90% of the time Junior can hit the ball to the outfield which he tries to do every time he's up to bat. Of all his activities this is Junior's favorite!

Nice hit!

At our church's annual courtyard carnival. Daddy and Mr. B playing on the "equalizer". Both attached to bungee cords and trying to get their basketball in their own goal. Pretty funny to watch!
