Happy Baptism Day, Junior!

Two years ago today Junior was baptized into the Catholic faith. We celebrated with brownies and ice cream, lighting his baptismal candle, putting his sash around him and singing a few songs. He also received a special phone call from his godmother wishing him a Happy Baptism!

Getting back into the swing of things

We've been back from Hawaii a little over a week now and I thought the transition would be easier than it has been. Junior took it the hardest of course. His little body just didn't understand all of it. I'm sure it was a combination of both the terrible 2's and being spoiled in Hawaii, but he was a little stinker when we got back. The only good that came out of it was that he slept in until at least 10am every morning for the first week...and so did I!

It has been harder for us to put him down to bed at night since he slept with us the whole week away. He was going to bed late, getting up early and barely getting any naps in some days. He had been throwing fits a lot more frequently also. I'm sure the dullness of being back home was part of that. We were always going when we were there and he ALWAYS had someone to play with or watch him do silly things. Now all he has is me during the day! Boring!!!

He has been attached to Daddy for quite sometime now, but the week we were away if Daddy even took one step towards the door to leave the room, Junior was wailing big alligator tears. There was nothing he wanted more than him. Of course to spare my family we were with, we gave into everything that week. Whether he wanted to stay up a little longer or have someone particular do something for him. His wishes were granted. That came back to haunt us!

I can say that this week has started out much better. We're back to laying down the law and there is little he can get away with now. I hope he knows who's boss now! Ha!

As soon as I get pictures from the other two cameras we had on the trip I will post. I'm sure you can't wait!

28 weeks

This little one has definitely become more active in the last few weeks. I don't remember Junior ever moving this much. Daddy and I have been enjoying seeing her acrobats from outside. She surely won't move this much when she's born will she? :)

Another trip to the doctor...

The Monday before we were to leave for Hawaii, baby girl was apparently apprehensive about leaving the continental United States without one more unscheduled appointment to the doctor's. So she decided to worry me with spotting. With worries in my head on the way down there, baby girl and I were checked out and given the go ahead to leave for our trip as planned. Although I had only one hour of sleep that day after working the night before, the silver lining of the whole day was getting to see our little girl an extra time. I guess she knew what she was doing after all!

26 weeks...but a picture at 24 weeks

Junior's 1st day of "school"

Junior attended his first day of "school" last Thursday. He attends the school associated with our church one day a week from 9am - 2pm. He is joined by 9 other 2 year olds. He is by far the youngest in his class. He turned 2 three days before his first day while all the other kids are already 2 and turning 3 through the course of the school year. He was not thrilled with me leaving him in the classroom. But within 3 minutes I peeked back in the room and he wasn't crying anymore. I felt more at ease and was able to go home and sleep more peacefully. (I had worked the night before which I plan on doing most of the nights before he goes to school. It worked out great!) He seemed to do well and was happy to see me when I picked him up at the end of the day. I found him sitting with the rest of the class quietly against the wall with their teachers.

Happy Birthday Junior!!!

2 year old stats:
37 inches tall
29 lbs.

Monday, September 1st was Junior's 2nd birthday. The day before, we celebrated with my family and one of his buddies at our house. We cooked out, played with toys, finger painted, opened presents and had cake and ice cream. Junior's cousin P has the same birthday and so we went to their house on Monday and celebrated both birthday's with Daddy's family. They just moved into a new house they built on some land. The weather was nice and Junior had a great time exploring the terrain with his cousins. Click here for more pictures of both celebrations!

Ranger's game

After planning to all summer we finally made it out to a Ranger's game last Sunday night. Junior was a little more enthused with it this year over last year, but we still had to take him walking around every so often to keep him entertained. Same as last year, the Ranger's hit a home run, the fireworks went off and Junior cried hysterically! We lucked out with the weather that night...it was a pleasant 82 degrees.

Check out last year's Ranger's game...they sure change a lot in a year!!!

Long weekend

Last weekend was one for the books. There was plenty to do and not a dull moment. It started out with my birthday on Friday, then proceeded to spending Saturday and Sunday at my parent's house with most of my extended family (aunt's, uncles, cousins and siblings) in town for the weekend and ended with a Ranger's game Sunday night. We ate well, played games, visited, played outside and had a great time!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Another year has flown by. I hardly realize that my birthday is coming and then has gone when I have Junior's birthday just a couple weeks later. I'm more concerned with getting his organized then my own! The joys of motherhood!

Junior and Daddy got me a nice card, flowers and some candy. We never seem to get each other anything nowadays. We are the spur of the moment people. If we need something we go get it then. We don't wait and save it for a special gift.

First thing that morning we went to mass together to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption. We then headed to a water park and spent a few hours there. Later, we were able to send Junior to Nana and Great One's house to spend the night, since we had a lot of family in town for him to play with, so Daddy and I could go out to eat and then see a movie. Overall it was a wonderful birthday!
